End of Year Giving: Good Hood Community Kitchen

“I’m hungry Mom!”

How many moms hear this on a daily basis? Did you know that over 4,000 children living in Windsor, from the ages of 1-14, live in a food-insecure home?

Having over 150 people attending our weekly Tuesday Bruce Park BBQs over the last several years, we have seen families struggling to make ends meet and children not having enough to eat.

September 30, 2024 was the day the Kitchen at 309 Wyandotte West officially became part of the neighbourhood. It is serving as both a resource and a hub for our downtown community offering delicious and nutritious food to the neighbourhood.

It is addressing food insecurity while sharing the rich heritage of Korean cuisine. Beyond nourishment, our Kitchen fosters a sense of belonging and a safe place to be.

However, we face the challenges of increased demand, food and limited funding. Currently, the Kitchen is only open Monday-Friday, 11am-2pm.  In order to continue providing these essential services to our community, we are asking you to support the Community Kitchen.

Watch the video above to hear Alex, the founder of Good Hood Community Kitchen, speak about the Kitchen and the inspiration behind the idea of serving a low cost menu to our Downtown Windsor community.

Your support will help us fight food insecurity within our community.

Will you partner with us to make a difference for the families we serve?

This year, for your End of Year Giving, we ask that you think of Good Hood Community Kitchen!

We love the friends and family that we have made within the core of Downtown Windsor, and we have found that Good Hood Community Kitchen has been a meeting place for our friends and family (new and old) to find warmth, connection and comfort in the food and service found at Good Hood.

You can help us feed our local Downtown Windsor community, through your donations.

$100 can help buy 10 meals for anyone who comes to us in need of a meal and a warm place to settle.

Together, we can Strengthen our Community!

Supporting us by volunteering helps us more than you can imagine!

Volunteering with us at Good Hood Community Kitchen will not only impact our surrounding community in great ways, but we can guarantee that it will leave a lasting impact on you as well!
